In Bangladesh and West Bengal it is called Krisnochura. It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. In many tropical parts of the world it is grown as an ornamental tree. Delonix regia is endemic to the western forests of Madagascar, but has been introduced into tropical and sub-tropical regions worldwide.It has become naturalized in some places, such as parts of southern Florida in the United States, and is invasive in parts of Australia, where it competes with native vegetation.
